The STA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work qualification is a three-day course designed for those who may be required to manage and perform emergency first aid within the workplace. The First Aid at Work qualification is the most comprehensive of all our first aid qualifications, covering a wide range of skills which can be used within a workplace first aid situation.
The STA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work course is for individuals who have a specific responsibility at work to deliver basic first aid. Learners who successfully complete this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to be an allocated first aider for their workplace, with the skills being transferable across a range of industries.
Learners may complete this qualification as a stepping stone to a career specifically in first aid such as a first aid tutor, alternatively they may undertake this qualification to compliment another role.
The course is comprised of a mixture of theoretical technical knowledge and practical hands on tasks to enhance the learner experience. The course covers a range of first aid incidents including: basic life support, anaphylaxis, choking, fractures, head and spinal injuries, asthma, bleeds and much more.

This course carries a 3-year validity period, learners are encouraged to keep their knowledge and skills up-to-date through regular staff training. HSE strongly recommends first aiders undertake an annual refresher during any 3-year certificate period.
The learner is required to complete a 2-day STA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work revalidation course before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified.
