The STA Level 2 Award for Pool Emergency Responder is a two-day lifesaving course for those who may be required to perform pool rescue techniques including basic spinal injury management, administer first aid or perform CPR in a poolside emergency. This qualification is a popular choice amongst hotels and leisure club facilities where it has been identified that constant lifeguard supervision is not required, however staff from other departments may be called upon to deal with poolside emergencies.
The STA Level 2 Award for Pool Emergency Responder gives learners the knowledge and skills to deal with poolside emergencies including pool rescue techniques, basic spinal injury management, first aid and resuscitation skills. Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners may provide safety cover for structured pool sessions, or alternatively they may not be based on poolside however must respond to poolside emergencies when required.
Learners may complete this qualification as a stepping stone to a career in lifesaving, alternatively they may undertake this qualification to compliment another role.

The learner is required to complete a new STA Level 2 Award for Pool Emergency Responder course before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified.
